So much has been said about the American road trip – in books, films, photography – it seems pointless to look for new angles: it is its universal, archaic nature that makes this theme remarkable. I find it noteworthy that in our secular western society we harbour a collective fantasy so steeped in romanticism, even notions of the sublime.
With these long exposures, taken by pinhole camera, I was seeking to capture a sense of awe and of movement. It seemed entirely appropriate to use such basic technology in that huge landscape. The prints are made by conventional process; I wanted to convey a dreamlike, 'kitsch' quality through unnatural, exaggerated colours.

I have been trying to get to grips with the idea of discovering or portraying an 'inner' sense in or to others. Having no belief in empathy I find the idea of such a thing quite an oxymoron.
As is only right when faced with a lack of understanding, I have looked to science to enlighten me.
I read that the best known way to measure happiness in a scientific environment is to throw lab rats into water to see how long they struggle for life. I will be throwing myself into such endeavours in the name of both art and science.

Inn o cence
Innersense, how I feel inside, or how I sense my inner self. Is there an innocence about sensing oneself, about looking inside, is there something there not touched by the outer world?
Will be out of comms for a couple of weeks. Will be thinking about innersense. Love to all.

I’ve been working on a series of photographic projects provisionally titled WINDOWS (mostly people in windows), TOWERS (and turrets and domes and stuff), DOORS (and gateways and entrances) and PATHS (tracks, pathways and stuff)
Anyway here is are 2 examples of WINDOWS…. I hope that these have a feeling of INNERSENSE.

About the title
Hello group...
I was thinking about the title of the exhibition...
and I was wondering what I could do for the show.
I think we have hundreds possible ways to folllow in order to translate the title in a (real) piece of art but.... would be great to a have your (our) idea about the title. I know that we don't have a subject to follow but... anyway should be a relationship among our works for the exhibition, and this is why we should think about Where we want to go and what we want to do?
I guess we should do a kind of brain storming...
In the meantime I leave you with this peaceful photo from Rejkiavik (INNERSNOW).
Bye *L*
